To create a mindset of wellness, you need to minimize and eradicate the thoughts that are defeatist, negative and limiting. It isn’t enough to just eliminate those negative thoughts, though; you must also replace them with empowering and positive thoughts.
There is a lot of negativity happening in the world right now, and if you start your morning with that news, then there is a good chance you’re starting your day off in the most negative way possible.
You can educate yourself without allowing that negativity to spread throughout your mind. Start your day with positive information and end it the same way, whether it’s by listening to wonderful music, reading a great book, or doing some yoga or meditation.
Remain Focused on Positive Outcomes
There are different outcomes possible with every situation that life throws at us. If you are constantly focused on the worst-case scenarios then that is the energy and results that will come your way.
Although it is not always the worst-case scenario, just not the best-case outcome.
So, why wouldn’t you start focusing on the positive outcomes instead? You will soon see that you feel much happier and calmer when you look at the potential positive outcomes.
This is an effective method of creating a true wellness mindset because once you start practising this your mind will automatically start to think in that direction.
No Ifs, No and’s, No But’s You may find your thoughts are more positive and you’ve worked hard to fill your mind with these thoughts; then, when it comes to opening your mouth you find the only word that falls out is but.
You make a positive statement and then this but creeps in with a bit of doubt.
It’s defeatist and truly makes you feel defeated before you have even had the opportunity to get started. Considering your feelings and concerns is one thing, but focusing on the but, is sure to derail your efforts.
Surround Yourself With Positivity
Positivity breeds positivity, which means that the people you spend time with can impact your happiness and success.
You get something from each relationship that you have, whether positive energy or negative energy.
If you want to rocket fuel a wellness mindset, then you must surround yourself with positive people.
If you don’t like your mood, then look at the people around you – it might be time to make some changes and tell Negative Energy Person you can’t grab coffee with them anymore.
Choose It
Whether it is your health, job, relationship, or life in general… you have to choose a wellness mindset. It’s a lifelong discipline and to achieve it you must practice it. Once you do start the practice you will soon see how easy it to take control of your mindset.

No matter what is going on in their life, they will find something to complain about.

Searching For The Good Stuff
This is one of the hardest things that I had to learn, it takes practice, and if you don’t keep at it, you can easily lose the skill.
Hunting the good stuff involves letting go of negative aspects of the situation and focusing on how you grew as a person or the positive elements of a negative situation. When you have something, really bad happen it can be hard to do this.
A friend of mine got robbed in a home burglary. Instead of dwelling on how unsafe they felt, or how much of a violation it was, they decided to focus on learning how to be more secure in their home.
They were grateful no one was home at the time it happened, and they learned to secure their home and belongings at all times.
Searching for the good stuff when you’ve been robbed is not easy, but it can be done, or you can choose to live in fear.

Keep a Gratitude Journal
I recommend that you keep a journal of everything you are grateful for. Be sure to Journal daily so that you spend time each day understanding that you have positive things happening in your life, this will help you recognize the positive much faster.
Replace Have with Get
Replace the word have with the word get when speaking about your obligations. Instead of saying things like “I have to go to the grocery store.”
Instead of, “I have to go to work,” you can say, “I get to go to work and I get to go to the grocery store.”
Putting it in this frame allows you to appreciate the positive things in mundane tasks. Not everyone gets to go to work or gets to go to the grocery store. It is something to be grateful for.
Replace Problems with Challenges
This is similar to swapping the word have with the word get. When you have a problem, it is usually something that is broken or something that is negative. Focusing on this subconscious connection with the word problem creates negativity.
The word challenge does not have that negativity. Instead, it opens you up for opportunities to grow and learn.
Realize Your Control
It is important to understand that we control our reactions to the world around us. While we cannot control what happens, we can control what we do or think about it.
We can choose to react negatively, or we can react in a positive way that will help with our overall goal of a more positive life.
Cease Negative Self Talk
Talking negatively to yourself is the fastest way out of a positive mindset. Instead, turn negative self-talk into a positive talk.
Whenever you talk negatively about yourself, you must say some great qualities you have.
Write them down, say them to yourself in a mirror. The more you believe you are a positive force in the world, the more you become one.
Now you have no reason not to go out there and conquer any lingering self-doubt or negative thoughts and replace them with a positive thinking mindset.
